20:51 – IDF says it’s attacking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon after army chief threatened response to truce violation

After Hezbollah broke the truce by firing on IDF positions on Mount Dov, the military stated: “The IDF is now attacking targets in Lebanon, more details to come.”

Shortly before, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi vowed, “We will attack strongly in the face of Hezbollah’s serious violation – and we will continue to do so. We have plans and targets ready to be activated at any moment.”

19:00 – Hezbollah attack on Mount Dov ‘initial’ response to ‘Israeli violations’

Hezbollah claimed that the attack on Mt. Dov in which they fired two mortar rounds into Israeli territory was their initial response to “Israeli’ violations” of the agreed-upon ceasefire.

This is the first time Hezbollah has responded since the ceasefire began. Hezbollah is calling it a “defensive response and a warning” to the “54 violations” it claims Israel has committed against them.

17:05 – US, UAE discussed lifting Assad sanctions in exchange for break with Iran, sources say

The U.S. and the United Arab Emirates have discussed the possibility of lifting sanctions on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Conditionally, Assad must remove himself from Iran and cut off routes supplying weapons to Lebanon’s Iranian proxy group, Hezbollah.

14:37 – Israeli intelligence discovers 200 Iranian-led cyber attacks against Israeli officials

Israel has exposed some 200 Iranian-led cyber-attacks targeting various public Israeli officials, Shin Bet, Israel’s internal intelligence agency, revealed on Monday. A Shin Bet official stressed that the latest campaign was only one of many Iranian attempts to harm Israel and individual Israelis.

“This is an additional significant threat from Iran aimed at carrying out attacks and assassinations,” the official assessed. “We ask for increased alert because such cyber strikes can be avoided by proper awareness, and cautions behavior online,” the official added.

12:42 – Iran vows to continue military presence in Syria amid reports of Iraqi militias entering the country

Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, said the regime “entered Syria many years ago at the official invitation of the Syrian government, when the Syrian people faced the threat of terrorism,” says foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei.

“Our military advisers were present in Syria, and they are still present” and will remain “in accordance with the wishes” of its government, Baghaei said at a press conference.

His comments followed overnight reports by Reuters that Iran-backed militias entered Syria from Iraq to assist Syrian army forces beat back the Islamist rebel groups that captured Aleppo.

A senior Syrian army source said dozens of Iraqi Popular Mobilization Force fighters crossed into Syria near the Al Bukamal crossing on the Euphrates River.

11:35 – FM Sa’ar protests Hezbollah ceasefire violations in call with French FM Barrot

In a call with his French colleague Jean-Noel Barrot, Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar protested the ceasefire violations by Hezbollah, after reports that France had accused the IDF of violating the agreement.

“The presence of Hezbollah operatives south of Litani is a fundamental violation of the agreement. They must move north!” Sa’ar told Barrot.

“Minister Sa’ar emphasized in the conversation that Israel is not violating the terms of the ceasefire, but – on the contrary: enforcing them in the face of Hezbollah’s violations that require an immediate response in real time. Thus, for example, when Hezbollah members are spotted walking around armed in the area south of Litani or trying to transfer weapons,” according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.

“Minister Sa’ar emphasized in the conversation that Israel has an interest in the successful implementation of the cease-fire understandings, but this requires fulfilling the commitments and that Israel will not accept a return to the situation that prevailed before the war.”

10:16 – IDF says hostage Omer Neutra, US-Israeli soldier, died on Oct 7

The IDF announced that Cpt. Omer Maxim Neutra (21), whose body is being held hostage by Hamas, was killed during the terror group’s invasion on Oct. 7, 2023.

Neutra, who immigrated to Israel from New York to serve in the IDF, was believed to be alive until now. He served as a tank platoon commander in the 7th Armored Brigade’s 77th Battalion.

The Military Rabbinate declared his death today after an assessment based on new intelligence information.

08:45 – US, UK, France and Germany call for de-escalation in Syria

The U.S, the UK, France and Germany published a joint statement calling for de-escalation and the protection of civilians in Syria after Islamist rebels captured the country’s second-largest city Aleppo last weekend.

The statement calls on all sides to protect civilians and infrastructure “to prevent further displacement and disruption of humanitarian access.”

“The current escalation only underscores the urgent need for a Syrian-led political solution to the conflict,” according to UN Security Council Resolution 2254, the statement added.

This resolution was adopted at the end of 2015 and demanded a ceasefire and political settlement of the civil war.

08:36 – IDF warns: Hostages could starve due to food scarcity in Gaza

The IDF’s hostage point man Gen. Nitzan Alon warned the political echelon that the Israeli hostages could starve due to food scarcity in Gaza, according to Ynet News.

“We have growing assessments about the situation of the hostages getting worse and worse, including the starvation of some of them. There is a problem of accessibility to food in the Strip. I can tell you that some of the hostages are in a very serious medical condition, some of them, we can say, are in life threatening circumstances.”

07:46 – Former DM Gallant praises ‘miracles of God’ in war achievements

Former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant praised Israel’s achievements in the war during a speech at the recognition ceremony for Chabad emissaries in New York.

“We have gained unprecedented achievements in the war thanks to the actions of the IDF soldiers and thanks to the miracle of God. This is not self-evident. I look at the situation, Hamas is a disbanded organization, we are dismantling it. All its institutions are dismantled, all of their superiors have been eliminated, like the evil Haman.”

“Also in the north, remember the bragging of Nasrallah and all the others and the threats and the shouting. When we decided, we fell on them and beat them. There is no Nasrallah, no Sinwar and all the rest. All this would not have happened without the faith of the people of Israel and without the support of millions of Jews all over the world and thanks to the prayers, the fighting spirit and the great sacrifice of the IDF soldiers.”

02:36 – IDF gives all-clear after false rocket alarm in Hanita

Since the ceasefire in Lebanon began, there have not been rocket or drone alarms in northern Israel.
